1.7.09 The Children's Study Home and Community Services Institute Announce A New Partnership
The Children's Study Home and Community Services Institute has announced an expansion of their community based therapeutic services supporting children and families with needs through a new clinical partnership. CSI, of Springfield and West Roxbury, MA, and The Children's Study Home of Springfield have formalized a partnership to provide therapy and family stabilization services in a joint venture designed to advance services to children and families in the greater Springfield area. The Children's Study Home, founded in 1865, has been providing educational, residential and outreach family based services and programs throughout Massachusetts to those who have suffered serious emotional and behavioral trauma. The Community Services Institute is one of the earliest clinics to emphasize `in-home therapy' a process of meeting clients in their own homes rather than in an office setting. In recent years, this has become a mainstream approach and CSI remains a leader in the field working with children and families through this approach. Both agencies are committed to building healthy families and creating safe surroundings through these combined efforts.
"This partnership has been developed to better meet the needs of the children and families we serve in the greater Springfield area," stated Steve McCafferty, Executive Director of The Children's Study Home. "Our main goal is to provide enhanced and consistent therapeutic services to our clients," he added.
In addition to the services that the two agencies presently offer, this new clinical approach and enhanced continuum of services will complement existing individual and family therapy, family stabilization and
treatment interventions in their own homes and communities. Frank Sacco, President of Community Services Institute said, "This partnership was formed to create innovative wraparound models for responding to children and families struggling with serious emotional disorders."
Both organizations are based in Springfield and focus on serving emotionally troubled children and their families with a common goal of fostering healthy growth and development.
